Loose Nuts

Steve Spouse is one of regional Western Australia's favourite entertainers.

He is a regular performer at popular venues, as a soloist or with duo/trio/band combinations - including his own band Loose Nuts (formerly The Steve Spouse Band).

Born in Collie and raised in Dampier Steve, who now resides in Bunbury, still enjoys travelling to the outback whether it's a mine site in the Goldfields or a footy function in the Pilbara or South West.

"I served my musical apprenticeship back in the eighties with the Mugshots in the Pilbara, and it's amazing that even today people still remember me from those heady days."

When he left Dampier, Steve moved to Sydney where he quickly established himself as a bass player on the local country circuit and made several appearances at Tamworth with Rough Stock.

After a short spell working as a session musician at Fox Studios he decided to return to Western Australia and moved to Bunbury.

Steve then spent several years as a solo artist, travelling the length and breadth of Western Australia, and in 2006 he formed the Steve Spouse Band.

Over the years the band has played more than 2000 gigs, including pubs, private functions and has also been the support act for some of Australia's leading performers like Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly and Thirsty Merc.

There is no doubt it is considered one of Western Australia's most professional party bands and over the years they have assembled a very versatile song list that can suit all occasions. The list is regularly updated with the latest favourites and includes all the standard rock classics, ballads, country, funk and soul songs.

"Over the years we have managed to adjust and keep up with the music of the day but we still enjoy a venue where we can belt out the classic rock songs of the eighties and early nineties."
