Sisters Kira and Jessica Depiazzi grew up in Bunbury, playing music together from a young age.

From secretive stuff jamming in the bedroom and shed they honed their craft busking and playing at school gigs, free festivals and fairs around Bunbury and the South West.

In the following years Kiress expanded their selection of songs, playing to backpackers from all over while travelling around Australia with their family and gaining invaluable experience by entering the inaugural Harness the Music event at Bunbury Trotting Club.

After playing at an open mike night at Dunsborough Tavern in early 2012 the girls were approached with the offer of a Sunday Session gig at the tavern, and from this they have gone on to play at several other establishments, including Swings & Roundabouts Winery at Yallingup and Wild Bull Brewery in the Ferguson Valley.

Jess and Kira are also a popular choice as entertainers at South West weddings.

They collected several first places at the 2012 WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod (inc. City of Bunbury Eisteddfod) in the original song and contemporary duo categories, and Jess has played at the Mayor's Garden Party.

Focused mainly on cultivating their ever-growing store of originals, they also put their own spin on any cover songs they play.

Jess and Kira enjoy pushing the capabilities of their music with what they have - the combination of a violin, guitar and two voices has so much potential in its simplicity to create a fresh sound.

Occasionally they add some percussion (bongo drumming and miscellaneous instruments) to their range of instruments; they still tend to be stripped back in style.

Kiress has recorded an independent album of their current originals.

The name Kiress was coined in 2011 as a combination of the duo's first names 'Kira' and 'Jess'.

Jess also performs as a solo artist, bringing her talents to weddings, family parties and corporate events.
